Pinterest Fan Box – Add Pinterest Followers to your Magento site

Posted date: 7 Apr 2012 | Posted by: admin | 4 comments

Pinterest Fan Box, do you know how to add your Pinterest followers to your Magento site?

In the previous post, we introduced a new feature “Pinterest Feeds” of our extension Pingento that supports you to add Pinterest Feeds to Magento sites with several options. Today, we are glad to inform you that a new cool feature named “Pinterest Fanbox” is added to this extension. It helps you to show your Pinterest followers in your Magento site!

First, please upgrade Pingento to the latest version 1.1.4 (or deploy it if you haven’t installed it yet)

upgrade pingento to latest version

Then go to the back office of Pingento, you will see a new config part named Fanbox Options under “Feeds Options”.

In there, you have to enter your Pinterest username into the textbox “Pinterest Username”, then we will show maximum “Maximum Number” from your followers with your account entered.

After setting all information, you will get the Pinterest Fan box in your Magento site!

P/S: at this time, we are supporting Fanbox blocks in either the left column or the right column, means 2 columns layout or 3 columns layout. We will support custom position and tell you how to make it work in the next release.

Also some current limitations:
- Currently, Pinterest itself doesn’t support any method to get the followers of an account that has more than 200 followers via its API, so either you have to choose an account with less than 200 followers or be calm down at this time until Pinterest provide to us more capabilities to do with its API!!!
- At this time we are using synchronous process to get Pinterest Feeds and Pinterest Followers, then it may be block other processes for a little bit time. We are hard working for an Asynchronous loading version with AJAX to improve the user experience also speed load :)

Welcome any comment here!

Hi, i read your blog occasionally and i own a similar one and i was just curious if you get a lot of spam feedback? If so how do you prevent it, any plugin or anything you can recommend? I get so much lately it’s driving me mad so any support is very much appreciated.

woot, thankyou! I finally came to a site where the webmaster knows what they’re talking about. Do you know how many results are in Google when I search.. too many! It’s so annoying having to go from page after page after page, wasting my day away with thousands of people just copying eachother’s articles… bah. Anyway, thankyou very much for the info anyway, much appreciated.
